Instructions

Our reamers are high quality precision tools and are very sensitive to any misuse. If you are not an experienced gunsmith, we recommend that you get assistance when using our tools. These instructions are not complete and are only intended to prevent needless damage.

• Do not attempt to cut “super-alloy” steels, Black Star barrels, chrome bores (military barrels) or any hardened steel barrels (including dies) with our reamers.
• Use proper lubrication. We recommend Rustlick WS-600-AC, which is available from MSC (800) 645-7270 or Sweden Lauser - 4000th Strong available from (800) 494-8331. Mix either water soluble cutting oil with 3-5 parts water. Other quality cutting lubricants which are left thick are also acceptable. Over dilution will damage reamers.
• Lathe speed should be 125 rpm or less for M-42 steel cutting tools, 40 rpm is more appropriate for smaller calibers like 17, 200-500 rpm for Carbide reamers. Do not use excessive pressure when clamping floating pilot reamers because they have a hollow shank and can be crushed.
• Do not attempt to resharpen, stone, modify or repair any rental tool. Please call us if you notice any problems.
• Take care to not drop or bump a reamer against any other hardened steel.
• Return all tools clean, dry and oiled in the prepaid return packing container.
