Floating Reamer Rentals

Important!

Our finishing reamers are made to SAMMI minimum specifications to improve
accuracy. Gunsmiths striving for increased accuracy will appreciate these reamers.
However, a few customers will find that some factory brand ammo with sloppier
tolerances and re-fired brass will no longer be compatible.  These customers may
prefer reamers made to SAMMI maximum specifications, which we do not offer.
Please discuss this with your customer ahead of time.

We inventory Pacific Precision Grinding's premium M-42 cobalt steel floating/rotating live pilot chamber reamers.
$36 - 3 business days

(rental starts after the reamer arrives, weekends are free of charge)

Why PPG's reamers????

PPG uses M-42 cobalt steel (2-3 times as expensive as M-3, M-7, etc) which is just plain superior in toughness, heat resistance, hardness, etc. Secondly, their precision standards are higher and their concentricity is exact and thus the tools cut on all flutes CONSISTENTLY.

This is the reamer you want when only the best will do.

Other rentals available.....

Throaters are available in all calibers for those of you who shoot the long, heavy bullets, or like to seat your bullets further out than standard throats allow.

Muzzle reamers are becoming widely used, to create the crown an inch inside of the barrel where it is well protected and reduces harmonic vibrations, or  to allow for a muzzle brake to be cut right into the barrel.  Muzzle reamers are 0.015” larger than GROVE diameter, and use the same pilots as the chamber reamers and throaters.  A throater or muzzle reamer is $15  for 3 days or $20 for 3 weeks when rented with a chamber reamer; $25 and $35 when rented alone.
